Anti-war demonstrators will be rallying in Hastings Saturday against the deadly U.S. airstrike that killed a top Iranian general.
The event is organized by Concerned Families of Westchester and will be held at the VFW Plaza on Warburton Avenue.
Another rally was held Friday night in front of Sen. Chuck Schumer's office in Peekskill, protesting President Donald Trump's actions. Protesters called for de-escalation and diplomacy.
Demonstrators tell News 12 they're afraid the president could spark an all-out war between the U.S. and Iran.
Sen. David Carlucci shared those fears in a statement, saying Gen. Qassem Soleimani supported terror, and no American will mourn him but that Congress "did not authorize the strike." He also says Trump "escalated tensions 10-fold."
Law enforcement has been on high alert over fears of retaliation. The Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino reminded residents in a statement saying, "if you have any concerns for your safety or that of others, tell your local police."
The rally is set to begin at noon.
