Incumbent Leg. Jose Alvarado has claimed victory in the17th District, but his challenger is arguing the results are too close to call.
The Board of Elections says Leg. Alvarado received 51 percent of the vote, with Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi getting 49 percent.
Annabi says she's not sure that the race is over and isn't ready to concede. Annabi is the Democratic leader of the Yonkers City Council. She cannot run for another term because of the city's term limits.
