Cats and dogs at an Elmsford animal rescue shelter have a better place to sleep today thanks to a group of kindhearted citizens.
Staff and members of the Solaris Sports Clubs in Yorktown Heights raised over $2,500 to buy 100 new beds and blankets for the Paws Crossed Animal Rescue Shelter.
Organizers say they held a basketball clinic with the Harlem Wizards that raised a lot of money plus members also donated funds.
They say the whole effort, from raising the money to purchasing and delivering the beds, came together in just over two months.
