The digging out has begun across Westchester, and that means it’s time for the Town of Greenburgh Snow Angels to get to work.

The volunteer program pairs neighbors with elderly and physically challenged residents who need help clearing snow after major storms.

In Dobbs Ferry, George and Mary Roca — both in their 90s — were facing a long driveway and a blizzard that proved to be too much.

“Oh, I didn’t come outside. No way,” he said. “I sat home and said, I’m not going to touch it.”

That’s when the Snow Angels stepped in — shoveling, clearing paths and even getting George’s snowplow up and running.

“Well, you know, I’ve been here for 70 years, so you all know me,” Roca said, reflecting on the help from neighbors.
