American Red Cross employees spent Christmas in Bedford Park parked in front of 2995 Botanical Garden to provide meals to people impacted by a water main break over a week ago.
The holiday menu included both meat and vegetarian options.
"We're still providing meals to those that live in the Botanical Gardens building because they still don't have power and gas yet so people can't cook so I'm making sure that we're providing tasty healthy meals for everybody on this holiday season," says Mike Arthur, of the American Red Cross. "We start serving lunch at noon every day and then we have dinner at 5 p.m. so people can come."
An MTA was also stationed in the area to offer residents a place to charge their phones, warm up or just get out of the house.
