Ambulance crews are protesting Thursday, warning if the Community Hospital at Dobbs Ferry is shut down it could cost some patients their lives.
A state health care commission is recommending the hospital and more than a dozen others be closed to save taxpayers money. Ambulance crew members say transportation time will be increased if they are forced to bring patients to White Plains or the Westchester Medical Center.
The state Legislature must either accept the whole plan or reject it entirely.
