An Amazon employee and two women have been charged with assault after a knife attack last week that injured another employee, and allegedly contributed to a secondary medical emergency during a facility-wide lockdown.
East Fishkill police say Jelani Senior, 20, was arrested last Thursday following an altercation with another employee at the warehouse in Duchess County.
Authorities say Senior targeted his coworker and that the incident may have stemmed from a prior interaction. The victim suffered an injury to their hand in the attack, according to police.
Law enforcement was called to the Amazon facility after receiving reports of a male employee with a switchblade-style knife. Authorities say the suspect was found inside a vehicle with two other women in the facility’s parking lot.
The women, Arissa Anderson, 22, and Kemiesha May, 21, were also arrested and charged with assault. It’s unclear if Anderson and May are also employees Amazon employees.
The facility was put on lockdown during the police investigation, and News 12 is told by several employees that a worker suffered a medical emergency in the cafeteria while authorities were on the scene. A picture of that medical emergency was provided to News 12.
Senior is being held in Dutchess County Jail on $10,000 bail. His co-defendants were released and given appearance tickets.
An Amazon representative previously told News 12 that they are grateful “everyone is safe” and are working with authorities to aid in the investigation.
