Tomorrow is World Alzheimer's Day. To honor the day, the Mario Cuomo Bridge will be lit up in purple Saturday night.
The Hudson Valley chapter of Alzheimer's Association will host its annual bridge lighting party at Horan's Landing Park in Sleepy Hollow. All are welcome to enjoy food, music, get information and more.
The group also hosts five walks during October. Walks are held in Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, and Dutchess counties.
According to the organization, nearly 7 million Americans and 55 million worldwide are living with the disease. Over 11 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias.
