The latest arrest in a spree of vandalism crimes in northern Westchester prompted Yorktown officials to declare an ?all out war? on this seemingly growing trend.
An arrest was made Monday night after graffiti defaced the Holland Sports Club in the Mohegan Lake area. This arrest was just the latest in an unwelcome trend taking place in and around Yorktown. Now, although graffiti and vandalism are usually associated with more urban areas, northern Westchester is being forced to heighten its efforts against such crimes. A meeting of town officials at Yorktown police headquarters took place Tuesday morning to discuss a strategic plan to combat the problem.
Yorktown officials are also asking the public to help. They say anyone who is a witness to vandalism or graffiti, should call the police department at 914-962-4141.
