Authorities ID all 17 Twin Parks fire victims

Authorities have identified all 17 victims of the tragic five-alarm fire that took place Jan. 9 in the Bronx.
The youngest victim was 2 years old, and eight of the 17 victims were children. The other nine victims were between 19 and 50 years old. According to the medical examiner, all of the victims died due to smoke inhalation.
The community in the Bronx and others from across the state continue to mourn for those who lost their lives while supporting the others still being treated and in critical condition at hospitals. A memorial is now set up in front of the building.
A candlelight vigil was held last night with elected officials and community members to remember the victims. Many of them were members of the Gambian community who had come to the Bronx to make a life in the United States.
Elected officials discussed forming a fire safety task force and changes to the ways buildings are inspected. The vigil had a combination of somber emotions and frustration that another deadly fire had happened in the Bronx.
A funeral was being held today for victims Seydou Toure and his sister Haouwa Mahamadou, some of the first of many expected in the days to come.
