A new batch of terror threats have airports on high alert.

Westchester County Airport is following in the footsteps of other major airports and tightening security. 

The move comes after the recent terror attacks in Europe and news of possible new technology that could get a bomb on an airplane without being detected.

The tight security means longer lines at the airport. But, most travelers tell News 12 that they are willing to take the inconvenience if it means being more safe in the air. Other measures being put into place include pat downs, hand swabs for traces of explosives and extra bag checks.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is putting the new measures in place nationwide after a terrorist group recently began circulating bomb-making instructions, showing that it is possible to create non-metallic explosives that would be undetectable by scanners.

Officials believe that al-Qaida in Yemen is the group behind the instructions. That is the same group that officials think orchestrated the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris.

The TSA is advising anyone who is flying to leave a little earlier for the airport because of the extra security measures.
