An Airmont village trustee pleaded guilty to a federal weapons charge.
Brian Downey entered his plea in federal court in White Plains, according to court records.
He admitted to owning an unregistered PA-15 multi-rifle.
Sentencing is set for June 1.His trustee position became vacant under the New York state public officers law with his guilty plea. 
The 48-year-old was arrested in 2020 when authorities raided his home and removed several weapons from his house.
He's still facing state charges.
His attorney is not commenting on the guilty plea.
