Attorney General Letitia James has recused herself from the state's probe of an alleged COVID-19 vaccine scheme involving ParCare.
As News 12 has reported, ParCare Community Health is accused of fraudulently obtaining the Moderna vaccine at its Monroe location and transferring it to other facilities.
State investigators are also looking into whether the doses - meant for health care workers and the elderly - went to the public.
A spokesperson for the Attorney General's Office said, "Our office will follow the facts and the law wherever they may lead. In order to avoid even an appearance of conflict, the Attorney General has personally recused herself from this matter."
ParCare denies any wrongdoing, and says the vaccinations were legally obtained.
