Hollywood actor and Pound Ridge resident Richard Gere is hoping to renovate a rundown historic site in Bedford.

An upscale inn and restaurant in Bedford Village has been closed for years. The historic building lies on a 14-acre site and dates back to the 1700s. Published reports say Gere, his wife and his business partner want to renovate the building and turn in back into an inn and restaurant.

Bedford residents say they would love to see the site become an eatery. Town officials still have to sign off on the project before it can start.
