Active COVID-19 cases push some schools to remote learning

More coronavirus concerns are impacting schools across the Hudson Valley.
West Haverstraw Elementary School is going virtual this morning after a second staff member at the school tested positive for COVID-19.
E J Russell Elementary in Pine Bush will be remote learning until Monday, Nov. 2 after an individual tested positive there. In New Rochelle, 29 students are now in quarantine after they came into contact with a person who tested positive for the virus.
News 12 is told schools will remain open even though 12 of those students did come to school yesterday before they knew they were exposed.
As for colleges, SUNY Cortland is pushing back all in person classes and activities for another two weeks after a report of 166 active cases. Classes will continue online until Nov. 3.
