A Greenburgh grandmother who was arrested on drug charges in a SWAT raid says she's being targeted by police over a civil suit.
Police raided Alesia Blackwell's apartment last week and claimed to have found marijuana, Ecstasy and drug paraphernalia. However, Blackwell and her attorney say the drugs were planted as retaliation for a $10 million civil suit she filed for injuries she says she suffered in a 2011 arrest.
"This is a setup," says Blackwell's attorney, Vojtech Bystricky. "This is a way to discourage my client not to continue her multimillion-dollar suit against the municipality, against the police department."
Representatives from the Greenburgh Police Department tell News 12 that all cases are treated the same and that they always follow the law.
Blackwell says she will fight the drug case and continue to pursue the civil suit.
