A classic '80s movie predicted that America would make huge changes in society and technology by this year.
The day that Marty McFly visits 2015 in the "Back to the Future" movies is Oct. 21, which is Wednesday -- but we still don't have hoverboards and flying cars.
Still, there are some predictions that the series did get right.
The headsets worn at the futuristic dinner table appear similar to Google Glass, Samsung's Gear VR and the Oculus Rift headsets. Video conferencing, used in the movies when the Marty of the future gets in an argument with his boss, is also commonplace.
There are also some things that exist today only because of the movies, like Pepsi's limited edition "Pepsi Perfect" bottle, which is modeled after one that Marty orders in "Back to the Future Part II." And Universal has released a fake trailer for "Jaws 19."
But there's still no hoverboard, although several companies, including Lexus and Hendo, have tried to make one.
