As the weather turned warm, one South Shore spot in Nassau County would always pack a crowd.

But nine months after a devastating fire and for the first time since 1999, Crabby Amy's in Seaford will not reopen.

"Sadly, we will not be returning to Treasure Island," Crabby Amy's owner Amy Breidenbach posted on the restaurant's Facebook account. "I leave with a full heart and lasting appreciation. Thank you for being part of my journey."

Crabby Amy's had become a summer staple in the Treasure Island Marina, but on Aug. 22, 2025, a fast-moving fire tore through the building.

Nassau County fire officials suspected an electrical issue started the fire, which spread to several nearby boats.

"Thank you all for the memories at Crabby's and support over the years," Breidenbach wrote. "Serving the Seaford Harbor community has meant everything to me."
