At least three buildings were damaged when walls collapsed during construction near the waterfront in downtown Yonkers Monday. According to officials, a backhoe removing a tree near a retaining wall caused the walls in two apartment buildings to partially collapse. Now, a dozen families are being forced to relocate and an auto repair shop on Hudson Street is also out of business. No one was hurt and engineers have been assessing the situation. The extent of the damage is not yet known.
