Pie lovers had a blast over the weekend as they scarfed down sweet desserts in the annual Warwick pie eating contest.
More than 100 people watched as 9-year-old Justin Slabaugh took the title for the children's contest, and Bonnie Cohen came up on top for the adults. "It was really good, messy, and I think I'm going to have to buy a new shirt," says Slabaugh.
The contest on the Railroad Green is a part of Warwick's sidewalk sale that happens every year. The proceeds go to the organization "Literacy Orange," which helps children and adults learn to read.
Winners of both the children's and adult contests got a certificate for one free pie a month for three months.
