Eight people who prosecutors say were involved in a million-dollar Westchester County mortgage scheme were indicted Tuesday.

Prosecutors say four homeowners under intense financial pressure in Yorktown, Cortlandt Manor, Croton-on-Hudson and Mount Vernon were targeted in the scam. The victims were identified from public listings of pending foreclosures, prosecutors say.

The eight people indicted Tuesday allegedly made $1.4 million off the scam.
