A six-hour long standoff on Gardnerville Road in New Hampton ended around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police said this began late Sunday morning with an incident of shots being fired.

Neighbors were instructed to stay inside their homes and roads were closed off as the standoff took place.

There is no word yet on any injuries or if anyone was taken into custody.
