Five people are recovering after a car slammed into a wall in the parking garage at the Cross County Mall in Yonkers.

It happened Saturday night on the upper floor of the garage. News 12 is told that the driver did not see the wall and crashed into it at full speed.

The five people in the car were taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Around two dozen fire fighters were on the scene with fears the wall could collapse.

Officials say they were able to support the wall until a contractor can make the permanent repairs. In the meantime, access to the parking garage is restricted.

The accident is remains under investigation.
