Four African-American parole officers are suing Ramapo and Suffern police departments for allegedly racially profiling them last year.
The veteran parole officers say they were in Ramapo looking for a parolee when they claim they were held at gunpoint and detained by white police officers from Ramapo and Suffern, despite having their badges and placards prominently displayed.
The lawsuit will be served to the accused officers this week. They will have 30 days to respond.
