Third-graders from Stony Point Elementary School are getting a hands-on business lesson and raising money for a good cause at the same time.
The class is putting on a first ever district-wide Family Sports Day on Saturday with the proceeds going to support cancer research.
The class teacher says these impressive students have raised more than $6,000 so far. "They came up with, not only selling T-shirts and water bottles, but having the first ever district sports day for charity," says teacher Jennifer Labier.
Saturday's Family Sports Day will be held at Stony Point Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost to participate in the competition is $5 per person and $10 per family.
