Officials say two officers were transporting a prisoner to a hospital along Nepperhan Avenue around 5:30 a.m. when the fire occurred.
Firefighters were called to the scene and the three people were treated for smoke inhalation, and the prisoner was then taken to a hospital for his prior injury.
