Three people are in custody in connection to an attack on a man in the Spring Valley shopping complex parking lot.
On Sunday night, an 18-year-old and two minors allegedly waited for their target to come out of the Food Fair grocery store in Spring Valley Sunday, according to police.
The target caught on, and called a friend for help, police say. However, the friend became the victim when the suspects fired a B.B. gun at the man after their intended target didn't come out of the store.
The gun looked very similar to a real gun, and the police posted a picture of it on their social media page to alert the public. They're asking parents to speak with their kids about realistic looking BB guns.
"The victim sustained injuries to his face as well as his arm," said Matthew Galli, of the Spring Valley Police Department. Police say they're seeing more fake guns on the streets of Spring Valley.
The two juveniles appeared in family court. They've since been released to family members.
The 18-year-old has been charged with attempted assault and is still in custody of the Spring Valley police department.
