Three Orange County schools were temporarily placed on a lockout because of a nearby police incident.
Monroe-Woodbury Central School District says police notified the school that a person in crisis was on foot near Route 17 near Nininger Road.
As a cautionary measure, Central Valley Elementary, Monroe-Woodbury Middle School and Monroe-Woodbury High School were placed in lockout as state and local law enforcement search for the person.
All entrances to the building were secured and no visitors were allowed entry to the school.
The lockout was lifted in the afternoon, and after-school activities were on a normal schedule, per the district.
