Three Hudson Valley libraries are getting major help despite cuts to essential funding proposed by the state.
The Kent Public Library, Putnam Valley Library and Patterson Public Library will each be awarded $20,000.
Officials say the funds will be used for critical upgrades and new development projects. This includes new shelves, computer upgrades, e-books and audiobooks.
Assemblyman Matt Slater secured the funds during the 2024 legislative session.
