21-year-old Yorktown man accused of intentionally striking man with ATV

Officials say the man in custody operated the ATV and intentionally drove it into the male victim at a high rate of speed, causing him serious physical injuries. They also say the suspect initially fled the scene.

The Yorktown Police Department says a 21-year-old man intentionally struck another man with an ATV.
Police say they received reports of an unconscious man who was struck by an ATV at Hunterbrook Ballfield on Sunday.
Authorities found the man with a severe leg injury, as well as injuries to his head and chest. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center.
Officials say the man in custody operated the ATV and intentionally drove it into the male victim at a high rate of speed, causing him serious physical injuries. They also say the suspect initially fled the scene.
The Yorktown Police Department says the suspect sustained injuries to his face during the impact and was transported to Westchester Medical Center.
The defendant, whose name has not been released, was placed under arrest at the Westchester Medical Center and remains in the custody of the Yorktown Police Department pending arraignment at a future date.
He was charged with first-degree assault.
