Candy classes and throwback treats make Denville shop a sweet destination

A candy shop packed with homemade chocolates, a wall of gummies and hands-on classes is giving visitors plenty of reasons to satisfy their sweet tooth in Denville.
Sweet Expressions offers everything from milk, dark and white chocolates to Jelly Belly candies, sour treats and packaged gummies, according to owner Geri Lombardi. The shop also makes many of its own chocolates and specialty treats in-house.
"Sweet Expressions, all that's sweet and more because it really is all that's sweet and more," Lombardi said. "We have all sorts of chocolates: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate."
Beyond candy sales, the shop has expanded into classes that combine crafts and cooking.
"We do something where we're mixing a craft with cooking, and everyone seems to love it," Lombardi said. "So that's what we're starting to get into."
The store also features classic candies that bring back childhood memories for many customers.
"Even if you don't like it as much, you still like it because it brings you back to that memory," Lombardi said.
Lombardi says the shop's location in downtown Denville has become part of its appeal, drawing visitors looking to explore local businesses, restaurants and attractions.
Whether customers stop by for homemade chocolates, nostalgic favorites or a candy-making class, Sweet Expressions is offering a sweet Road Trip Close to Home destination.
