A local barbershop that's been open for more than six decades got a permanent place in Marble Hill history on Monday.

The street at West 228th St. and Marble Hill Avenue is now co-named Rosey's Marble Hill Barbershop Way, in honor of "Marble Hill International Unisex Barbershop" and its owner, Roosevelt "Rosey" Spivey.

Spivey opened the shop back in 1962.

Officials say the honor celebrates his legacy and the importance of the longtime, Black-owned small businesses.
