The ramp from Paterson Plank Road eastbound to Route 3 westbound in Secaucus is scheduled to close today for three weeks as part of a drainage improvement project, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

NJDOT says crews will replace a deteriorated 48-inch corrugated metal drainage pipe with a reinforced concrete pipe.

The work is part of an $11.1 million stormwater facilities restoration contract covering Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.

Drivers heading east on Paterson Plank Road who want to access Route 3 westbound will be directed to:

  • Continue on Paterson Plank Road eastbound.

  • Turn right onto the ramp for Route 1&9 southbound.

  • Turn right onto the ramp for Route 3 westbound.

NJDOT says the work is intended to maintain the state's transportation infrastructure and extend the service life of its roads and bridges.

The schedule is subject to change due to weather and other factors.
