A 12-year-old girl was shot in the Bronx Monday night, but police sources say she was not the intended target.
Police say the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. at 2465 Tratman Ave., near Rowland Street. The girl was shot in the torso and right foot.
She was taken to Montefiore Hospital by private means and is in stable condition, according to police. The FDNY said she had left the scene before its emergency medical crews arrived.
Video from the scene shows a gun on the street next to a car’s tire. Investigators collected evidence, with about seven shell casing markers visible on the ground.
Police sources say two men wearing all black ran toward Zerega Avenue.
No arrests have been made. Police are still investigating what led to the shooting. It was not immediately clear who the intended target was.
