'Loud bangs.' Police search for wanted man shuts down Stamford street for hours Tuesday

A neighborhood on the West Side of Stamford resembled more like a warzone Tuesday as police executed a search warrant for hours.
It happened at a home on Rose Park Avenue.
Authorities used multiple flash-bangs and an armored truck to try and bring a wanted man into custody.
A heavy police presence swarmed the neighborhood and shut down the street, while dozens of people watched it all unfold from the sidewalk.
"I was hearing some loud bangs go down, and I was like... are they shooting?" neighbor Emmanuel Newton says. "I saw a bunch of squad cars piled up on the street, I saw they had the road blocked off."
Stamford police say its patrol division had spotted a wanted individual.
Capt. Douglas Deiso says the Special Response Team then searched a home.
Authorities were ultimately unable to track the man down, but Deiso says evidence found inside the home pointed to the man being there at some point.
More information could be released Wednesday on the identity of the man and what he's wanted for, Deiso says.
