A four-alarm fire ripped through a restaurant in Williamsburg on Saturday, according to the FDNY.
Flames erupted inside Juliette Restaurant, located at 135 North 5th St., just before 5:30 p.m. The blaze quickly escalated to a fourth alarm, sending 231 fire and EMS personnel to the scene.
Fire officials reported a minor collapse inside the building. Five firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the blaze, according to the FDNY.
Citizen app footage shows smoke billowing from the restaurant's roof as bystanders walk by covering their mouths to avoid inhaling smoke.
Paramedics took four of the wounded firefighters to Woodhull Hospital. The fifth hurt firefighter turned down medical attention.
Neighbors covered their mouths as the walked through smoke filled streets. Vinod Singaram was still inside his next door apartment.
“I was in my apartment putting my bed together," he said, still moving into his new place he got the keys to earlier this week.
Singarm says if not for his two dogs refusing to stop barking, he would have never looked out the window.
"I thought they were just barking because of some noise...I was very, very happy,” Singaram said.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Buildings about the buildings' structural damage and was waiting a response as of Saturday night.
