Three inmates are facing felony charges after prosecutors say they assaulted correction officers at Green Haven Correctional Facility.
The Dutchess County District Attorney's Office says Ryan Laws, 48, Carine Reeves, 46, and Emmanuel Valentin-Perez, 23, were each indicted on two counts of assault in connection with three separate incidents at the prison.
Prosecutors allege that on Sept. 16, 2024, Laws struck a correction officer with his hands and a food tray before pushing the officer against a wall, causing injuries and substantial pain.
Authorities say Reeves assaulted a correction officer on July 17, 2024, striking the officer several times in the face and head and causing injuries and substantial pain.
Prosecutors also allege Valentin-Perez repeatedly struck a correction officer in the face and head on Jan. 3, 2025, causing injuries and substantial pain.
District Attorney Anthony Parisi says additional indictments connected to incidents at Green Haven Correctional Facility are expected in the coming weeks.
