A slow-moving cold front will deliver soaking rain with embedded thunderstorms to Westchester County Thursday evening. There will be rounds of rain starting in the late afternoon and continuing on through the evening. Gradual clearing will take place overnight and into Friday.

The heaviest rain will arrive closer to the evening commute and through about midnight. Rainfall totals will range from 1-3", with the higher end in southern Westchester County and lesser amounts through Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Ulster & Dutchess counties. Watch for street and poor drainage flooding.

Temperatures will reach the lower 80s and then fall back into the 60s at night.

The front will be slow to clear the East Coast and will eventually become the focus for more showers and thunderstorms over the weekend.
