Security camera footage shows a wood plank flying through the air, and smashing the windshield of Adrienne Dalena's car as it was parked outside 260 Moore St. in Bushwick on July 17.

"My mouth dropped a little bit," Dalena said. "Then I was just like 'what the ****' - that was not on the bingo card."

While Dalena says there was no signage or anything in the area to indicate work was being done, another plank is seen being carefully lowered down to the sidewalk a few seconds earlier, then walked across the street by a worker in the footage.

When they seemingly lose control of the next plank, and it goes flying into Dalena's car, the worker is seen reacting.

"I often sit in my car, you know, it's just a thing I like to do, so, you know, I could have been in there, it's really concerning," she said.

The worker then walked over to pick up the plank and take it away, but Dalena says nobody left a note about what happened.

With no idea who to call, and no insurance, she says she was left to pay the $425 bill to fix it herself.

"People try to cut corners, people try to rush, I understand that," Dalena said. "But it cost a lot, and...I use my car quite frequently."

The building's manager tells News 12 that one of the tenants had hired somebody themself to paint their apartment, and the plank was a piece of scaffolding they were using.

The manager has asked the tenant for the contractor's information, but says so far, they have not gotten an answer.

"I see what's going on and the still avoiding it, and just it's not fair," Dalena said. "It's public safety, accountability, it's just kind of being a decent human being."

Dalena has filed a police report, and a detective said they would be in touch with her.

The New York City Department of Buildings also tells News 12 it would have to do an official inspection to say whether or not this is something it would issue a violation for.

The building manager says they will follow up again with the tenant.
