Weekend track replacement work is causing major service changes on several subway lines, with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority urging riders to plan ahead before traveling.

The service changes began Friday night and are expected to remain in effect until 5 a.m. Monday.

The 1 train is not running between 14th Street and South Ferry. However, trains continue to operate between Van Cortlandt Park–242nd Street and 14th Street approximately every eight minutes during the day and evening.

The 2 train is not operating between 34th Street–Penn Station and Flatbush Avenue–Brooklyn College.

For Bronx riders using the 2 train this weekend, the MTA says service is available between Eastchester–Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street.

The 3 train has been suspended for the entire weekend.

The MTA also says 5 trains are operating between Wakefield–241st Street and East 180th Street, providing another travel option for Bronx commuters.

Officials say service is subject to change and encourage riders to check the latest schedules before leaving home.
