If you think this heat is a lot, try working outside in it.

"It's a rough one, and it's supposed to get rougher in the week," says Ray, who is with Dom's Landscaping.

News 12 caught up with Ray while he was working in Floral Park Wednesday. He said the key to working outside this week is breaks, shade and a lot of water.

"When they want to get a break, they get a break," Ray tell News 12.

The same goes for people working outside in Glen Cove where they're expected to see some of the highest temperatures on the island this week.

The heat also means extra ice cream orders at Sid's All American.

"I expect to go through most of it," says Matt Barning, who is one of the owners.
