Beautiful Father's Day weekend on Long Island with stormy weather on Monday
It's a great weekend for outdoor plans, but windy weather today will bring some hazards for beach and boaters and increase a risk for rapid fire spread.

It's a dry and breezy start to the weekend which will elevate a risk for fire spread today and bring a few marine hazards. Otherwise, it will be beautiful today and for our official first day of summer and for Father's Day plans on Sunday. Significant rain is possible on Monday.
Today: Breezy and Mostly Sunny
Strong winds are expected to decrease throughout the day. Aside from a few afternoon clouds, it will be sunny with highs in the low 80s. A moderate risk for rip currents is expected for Atlantic Ocean beaches and a Small Craft Advisory is in effect today.
Sunday: Nice for Dad
Sunny skies are expected with less wind. Clouds will thicken later in the day, but rain is not expected. Highs are in the low 80s. There is a low risk for rip currents and sea conditions will be better for boating.
Monday: Heavy rain is possible
Mostly cloudy skies are expected with showers in the morning and heavy rain in the afternoon. Thunder is possible. High temperatures are in the 70s.
Rest of the week: Seasonable Summer Weather
Drier weather and less humidity returns Tuesday afternoon. A few stray storms are possible Thursday into early next weekend, but it does not look like a washout. High temperatures will be in the 80s with overnight lows in the 60s.
