They say the increase in visitors could provide a boost for hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions across the county.

Officials also stressed the importance of safety planning ahead of large crowds.

Public safety leaders are urging residents to stay alert during events.

“I also want to encourage the public to report suspicious activity. Remember that public awareness plays a critical role in protecting Westchester,” said Public Safety Commissioner Terrance Raynor.

Officials say plans are also in place for watch parties and public events across the county.

Some of those events are expected to take place at the Westchester County Center.
