Three women have filed lawsuits against Nassau County over interactions with a corrections officer.

All three claim John Barber took their phone numbers from the jail's visitor log to reach out to them romantically.

Lisarose Potts, Michelle Miranda and Mayra Nunez say this happened after they visited their fiancés or boyfriends at the East Meadow jail in September and October of 2024.

According to court documents, Barber reached out to each woman via text or What's App following their visits.

Potts, one of alleged victims, says the officer contacted her about “important information” regarding her boyfriend, lured her into his car and tried to kiss her.

Miranda says she had a similar experience to Potts.

Each multimillion-dollar lawsuit was filed in federal court earlier this year.

News 12 has reached out to the county for comment and are waiting to hear back.
