Stamford Little League brought out New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera on their opening day Saturday.
Rivera threw out the ceremonial first pitch after being called in to relieve Mayor Caroline Simmons — who faked an arm injury.
The baseball Hall of Famer posed for pictures and signed autographs for the little leaguers.
Rivera played for the Yankees from 1995 to 2013. He began as a starting pitcher but spent most of his MLB career as a relief pitcher.
