A detached two-car garage was engulfed in flames in Yonkers this afternoon.
Residents tell News 12 it sounded like an explosion.
Video shared by a neighbor shows the heavy smoke and flames that firefighters were met with upon arrival.
It happened right around 2 pm on Hunter Avenue.
Yonkers fire officials tell News 12 they were able to knock it down in about 20 minutes.
"It was a stubborn fire, it was fully involved from floor to ceiling within the garage. There was a lot of combustible household items within, possibly an electric bike or two," said Assistant Yonkers Fire Chief Peter Connolly.
Fire officials say there was some damage to the exteriors of two adjoining houses to where the detached garage was located.
Assistant Chief Connolly says there have been no reported injuries.
