Woman pulled from burning Hillcrest home in fire that injured firefighter, displaced more than 12

A woman was hospitalized after being pulled from a burning home during a fire Monday morning in Hillcrest.
Fire officials said the woman was taken to Westchester Medical Center after crews responded to the home on Williams Avenue. Her condition and identity have not been released.
A man named Francisco told News 12 that the injured woman is his sister, who lives above him.
A firefighter also suffered minor burns to his shoulder and is expected to make a full recovery, officials said.
The Red Cross says they are helping seven households, for a total of 14 people, with emergency assistance.
They also share that "any residents impacted by this fire who need help with their recovery and have not already connected with the Red Cross should call 1-877-RED CROSS (877-733-2767) and select Option 1."
Fire crews from Hillcrest, Monsey, New City and Spring Valley responded to the scene shortly after 10 a.m.
The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office is working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
"It started most likely in the kitchen area on the second floor. We did have fire showing out of the rear of the building. So a final determination will be made by BCI, but that's where we're at right now," says Hillcrest Fire Chief Orin Ben-Jacob.
The Town of Ramapo says the fire has made the home uninhabitable and the certificate of occupancy has been revoked. Also, violations will be issued for alleged construction done without permits.
