A man has been arrested after police said he broke into a Spring Valley apartment on North Main Street and barricaded himself inside Tuesday night.
Village police said they received a call about an attempted burglary in a first‑floor unit.
Officers confronted the man, who then locked the doors and barricaded himself inside the apartment. The Rockland County REACT Team, the county’s SWAT unit, was activated.
Police said the SWAT team took the man into custody after a two‑hour standoff. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
