The Bridgeport Fire Department is mourning 41-year-old firefighter Terrence Cramer, a dedicated 10-year veteran who was fatally shot early Saturday morning in Stratford.

Police say they arrested Jabari Bush, of West Haven, following a pursuit in connection with the fatal shooting.

Cramer's death has left the department heartbroken.

"We are absolutely devastated. We are providing grief counselors help any members of our team who may need to speak with somebody about this sudden, unexpected loss," said Bridgeport Fire Chief Lance Edwards.

"Terrence will live on in our hearts forever," he added.

Bush, who is being charged with murder, is due in court on Monday.
