A Burlington County Girl Scout chapter barred a Mount Laurel troop from selling cookies outside a marijuana dispensary.

Last month, the girls set up shop outside Daylite Dispensary, and the owner said, they were raking it in.

"I think they were very pleased with the amount of cookies they sold that day. I didn't get a true count on how many boxes of cookies they sold, but I believe it was a lot," said Steve Cassidy, a co-owner of Daylite Cannabis. "A lot was sold to our staff members as well, but the feedback from our customers was overwhelmingly positive."

After just one visit, though, Cassidy said the Girl Scouts were told by their leadership that they wouldn't be returning.

"At this point, we're not scheduled to have them back any time soon, but the doors are always open for the Girl Scouts to return," he said.

The Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey told News 12 in a statement, "Girl Scouts can set up booths outside of businesses that they would be able to enter and purchase something."Daylite customers are eager to see the Girl Scouts return, encouraging them to find a loophole in the rule.

"I would have…bought them out because…some of the strains here give you the extra munchies and Girl Scout cookies…they would've really hit the spot," said Sarah Sanderson. "They should set up in the Wendy's parking lot next door.”
